  • Pilar Villar-Argáiz is a Senior Lecturer in the Dpto of English Philology at the Univ.of Granada. She has published on contemporary Irish poetry and fiction, cinematic representations of Ireland, and the theoretical background and application of feminism and postcolonialism to the study of Irish literature. She is the author of Eavan Boland’s Evolution as an Irish Woman Poet (Edwin Mellen Press, 2007) and The Poetry of Eavan Boland: A Postcolonial Reading (Academica Press, 2008). Her research has been published in New Hibernia Review, Irish University Review, Nordic Irish Studies, Brazilian Journal of Irish Studies, Internationalist Review of Irish Culture, Contemporary Women’s Writing, Estudios Irlandeses, An Sionnach and Études Irlandaises. In March 2010, she was awarded by her University with the Prize of Outstanding Research in the field of Humanities.
